one sunny afternoon, people watching while on holiday, I had a sudden idea: filming one minute long videos of what was in front of me, fly on the wall style... it was to be like a candid picture, only with movement and sound... the original rules were: 1.) once started recording I could not move the camera; 2.) they'd be one minute long and 3.) there would be only one video per city... rule number three has long ago been dropped, it was far too limiting... the first one was filmed in Sarajevo back in February 2008 and since then I have been capturing one-minute-long samples of ordinary daily life going by... "um minuto em..." means "one minute in..." in Portuguese, my mother tongue...
